I believe that people feel like life stops once they become sick who they were yesterday no longer matters that person doesn't exist anymore. Sick kids feel it the most, it's hard to comprehend what is happening and why it's all happening so fast. We slowly start to feel like we can't live life anymore because we aren't ourselves anymore we are someone else. I know first how you lose yourself within your sickness, it consumes every moment of your life. That is why the here and now is so important. The here and now represents living while you can not letting your illness stop your life but just make you live it differently. Instead of your illness becoming the thing that's holding you back it becomes the thing that pushes you forward. The here and now is living without a thought of tomorrow and only now. We can't control what will happen next week or next month but we can control now. Allow your sickness to help you embrace life not make you hide from it.
